Making Music With a Jeep

I ran across this video surfing YouTube.  Now this is COOL!   The guys spent 2 weeks rehearsing their parts, and it took them 7 hours of filming to get the perfect take. Every sound is made by the Jeep.  Well done guys!

Julian Smith is the maker of this video, his other fine work can be seen at JulianSmith.tv.  Or on his YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/juliansmith87

Keep an eye on the Man Blog, I have a feeling some more of Julian's videos will be showing up here in the future.

Built Ford Tough

After reading the article which was published on the Manitoba Parkland website, watch the video.  A true testament to just how tough Ford trucks are.  The air conditioner that is suspected to have caused the fire...I am guessing was built in China.

PRESS RELEASE:
Kelleher Ford, Dauphin Manitoba
On Saturday 2011 September 10 at approximately 1330 hrs, the Dauphin Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 36 – 2nd Avenue North West (Kelleher Ford) in the City of Dauphin.

Upon arrival Firefighters found thick heavy smoke and large flames extending from the office space in the North West corner of the property; there were no injuries reported for any occupants of the building as the staff evacuated the area immediately.  Two firefighters were treated at the scene by EMS; one for smoke inhalation and the other for heat exhaustion.

The fire spread extremely rapidly, due to several factors; the showroom and sales office space were of a wood frame construction, the contents within the building were extremely flammable, and the 30 km westerly winds fanned the flames.  As the wind was spreading the fire along the roof, it also blew smoke directly into the City, causing issues with numerous businesses and homes.

Firefighters remained on scene for twenty one (21) hours to ensure there was no chance of the fire reigniting.  The structure suffered heavy smoke, heat and fire damage; as a precautionary measure, the building had to be demolished due to the fact the service bays had several layers of roofing materials.  The fire was trapped between the layers of roofing, and spreading east.  In order to prevent any damage to neighboring buildings, a backhoe was called to the scene to begin demolition at approximately 0200 hrs.  “We knew by 0100 hrs we would not be able to access the burning roofing materials in order to extinguish the fire”, Fire Chief Cameron ABREY stated.  “Because the fire was burning the roof from between the layers, we could not send firefighters onto the roof itself.  The safest option was to call in the backhoe and begin demolition.  This way, we were able to prevent the fire spreading to Acklands Grainger to the East.”

ABREY also reported, “Given the 32 degree temperatures Saturday, we knew the fire would be extremely hard on the firefighters.  Working a fire like this, in these temperatures can quickly take their toll physically on the firefighters.  We have to rotate crews in and out, keeping everyone hydrated.”  It was immediately decided that additional firefighters would be required.  Gilbert Plains Fire Department was requested to assist via the Provincial Mutual Aid System.  “We are extremely appreciative of Gilbert Plains Firefighters assistance.  They arrived on scene with several members and worked diligently alongside our members to remove equipment and tools from the service area and assist with the fire extinguishment.”  The members of Gilbert Plains remained on scene until approximately 2100 hrs Saturday evening.

As the fire is a major loss to the community, the Office of the Fire Commissioner was requested to attend and conduct the fire investigation.  It was determined a window air conditioning unit was the cause of the fire.

The Dauphin Fire Department would like to thank the community for their support during this long incident.  Food was brought for the Firefighters throughout the day and night; thank you to Dave and crew at Showdra Meats, Bruce and crew of Irving’s Catering, Kathy of Kat’s Korner CafĂ© and the numerous others that dropped off supplies.  Also thank you to Drozda Backhoe Services and Stirling Enterprises for their assistance to the Fire Department with their heavy equipment as the demolition prevented the fire from spreading to any neighboring properties.

This video makes me proud to say: "I buy American", and very proud that one of the two factories that build the F-150 is located less that a mile from my home.  Eat your hearts out all you Jap Crap driving pussies!

Awesome Building Design, Dynamic Architecture

I read about dynamic architecture a few years ago, and the article said back then that there was one of these towers under construction in Dubai.  According to the same article though, they claim these buildings can be completed in a fraction of the time it takes to construct a conventional building.  Now, I don't claim to be a genius or anything, but I read the article at least 2 years ago, and I know a conventional building can be built in under 2 years, yet we have yet to see the completed version of one of these towers.....wtf?  So, I guess we are not quite sure if this is for real or not....but man, I hope they are, because these are some neat buildings.

Designed by David Fisher of Dynamic Architecture Group, I can't do it justice just writing about it, you really have to watch the video.

Featured Website: Harley Davidson

It's no secret that I love Harleys, so it's only right that I feature HarleyDavidson.com as the website of the week. The new 2012 models are out, featuring the 103 ci. V twin.  The new V-Rod Muscle is completely badass, and built less than 10 miles from where I sit.
Here is where I buy my bikes.... The largest volume Harley Dealer in the midwest, which means bikes as far as the eye can see.

Follow up on Senco Fusion Nailer...

Awhile back I posted an article about the Senco Fusion Nailer.  I have not used one of these, so I in no way endorse it, I am merely highlighting the new technology and I have to admit, everything I have seen is impressive. They are going for $400 at this point, but like all new technology, I expect that will come down over time.

As a follow up of that article, here is a video review.

It will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere (no pun intended)...

Will this be the next big thing? Tata Motors of India thinks so...yes Tata is actually the name of an auto maker, and not just something you see in one of my Massive Mammories Monday posts.
This is an auto engine that runs on air.  That's right, AIR not gas or diesel or electric but just compressed air.  Tata Motors expected these vehicles to hit the streets in India by August, so if they made their mark, they are running all over the place over there.

Completely butt ugly in my opinion, but they may be on to something here...

Make Mowing Fun!...

A lot of men will be doing yard work today, as Sunday is just a great day to do it, or is the only time you have to do it, but nonetheless, one of these would make it much more fun, and I am guessing a lot faster too.

The only way a Smart Car can be manly....kinda

I don't know about everyone else, but every time I see a Smart Car, I just have to laugh.  I don't imagine the fuel savings (which isn't really that much) would make it worth the humiliation of actually owning one.  The images in this video made me laugh as well.  Supposedly they are body kits for Smart Cars.
I am guessing these are Photoshopped images.  If you look closely, you can see where they would have had to reconfigure the frame, axles, brakes etc. making it a little more than just a "body kit".

Ballistics Demonstration 9mm - 50 Caliber sniper rifle...

This is an awesome demo.  Watch how the drums jump.  Bear in mind that a drum filled with water tips the scales at roughly 450 lbs., and all but the smaller arms lift it clean off the ground.
Also, notice what would happen if you tried to shield yourself behind a car door like they do on TV.

It's all about the respect...

OK, this commercial is just a hair over the top, but the point remains the same. Harleys just demand (and get) respect. What the video doesn't show is that the husband probably left on a rice burner.

True Story: I pulled up to a local store on my $5,000 Harley, and a guy pulled in right next to me with about a $20,000 Suzuki Hyabusa.  After conducting our business, and coming back out to our bikes, a bystander informed him that some guy had been letting his kids play on the bike.  I asked if the kids had messed with mine, and she said: "No way, he even told them not to mess with it, because it was a Harley".

There's proof I have seen with my own eyes:  The cheapest Harley demands more respect than the most expensive jap crap.

Wanna see a pussy in a Prius shit his pants? Creep up on him in this...

This is exactly what the Doctor ordered! It would be so nice to have one of these as a moron eliminator. No more idiots driving under the speed limit in the fast lane.

The gun is completely bad ass. It fires around 1,200 rounds per minute, and rumor has it they have to run the windshield wipers to eliminate the casings if they are driving down the road.
